The Rouman Amusement Company, Inc. is proud to announce the opening of the
first six screens of a freestanding, ten-screen movie theater located on State HWY 8 East in Rhinelander.
The first 35,500 square foot phase of construction was complete for an
opening date of February 4, 2000. The complex, to be know as ROUMAN CINEMA, will feature high back
stadium seating with retractable cup holder armrests, wall to wall screens, digital sound, and the
very best in screen and projection equipment- in all auditoriums.
A Multipurpose birthday party room and a arcade will be showcased as well as
a customer service area where movie-goers can take advantage of amenities such as child booster seats,
assistive listening devices for the hearing impaired, and a message center.
Many modern conveniences are evident throughout the building including
computerized point of sale terminals in both box office and concession.
The concession will consist of traditional items such as popcorn, soft
drinks, and candies, as well as specialty products such as frozen slush drinks, cotton candy, and
specialty coffees, teas and hot chocolate.
The unique design and motif of the complex is one of a Northwoods flavor
complete with log and stone interior, floor to ceiling themed artwork, and other regional
distinctions. The theater is sure to become an area landmark and showpiece, as well as the model for
exhibition excellence in Northern Wisconsin.
The Rouman Amusement Company, Inc. also currently owns and operates the
four screen State Theater in Rhinelander, which will remain operational. This brings the total screen
count to ten at two locations.
